An excimer laser is a device that generates a 193-nanometer
wavelength beam of light. It is capable of removing extremely
thin layers of corneal tissue without damaging adjacent cells.

Laser eye surgeons built the first excimer laser in the world, approved
by the FDA for the LASIK procedure. |
Before your surgery, the surgical plan for your eyes based on the results
of your eye examination is entered into the laser's computer, which
enables the laser beam to precisely reshape the corneal curvature to
correct your specific refractive error. The surgeon operates the laser's
beam during the surgery in accordance with the computer control.
The excimer laser developed at Kremer Laser Eye Surgery Centers in King of
Prussia, PA, was the first laser in the world to be approved by the
FDA for the LASIK procedure. At Kremer Laser Eye Surgery Centers, we are dedicated
to the development of the latest technology in patient care. Our King
of Prussia facility has four different types of excimer lasers so we
can customize treatment for each patient and each eye.
